According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the Twins have moved Michael Tonkin (shoulder/biceps) to the 60-day injured list as of Friday. Tonkin initially landed on the 15-day IL to start the season with a right shoulder strain and began a rehab assignment in mid-April, making six minor league appearances.
However, his recovery was halted due to right biceps tendinitis. This latest setback may keep the veteran reliever sidelined through the All-Star break. In a corresponding move, Ryan Fitzgerald has been called up from Triple-A St. Paul.
